A DECADE OF DEDICATION RECOGNISED: SAA BOARD OF TRUSTEES, ICASA DIRECTOR AND SAA LEADERSHIP CELEBRATES LONG-SERVING STAFF

Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra, Ghana

“What began as national service has grown into a decade-plus legacy of commitment, excellence, and dedication.”

In a heartwarming moment of recognition at the 8th SAA Executive Board Handover Ceremony, held at the prestigious Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, Ghana, two outstanding members of the SAA secretariat were honoured for their extraordinary and long-standing dedication to the organization.

Mr. Chris Nuatro, Senior Marketing & Partnership Officer, and Mr. Gordon Tambro, Senior Programme Officer, were each presented with a certificate and a plaque in recognition of more than ten years of meritorious service to the Society for AIDS in Africa.

As Mr. Tambro was representing SAA at the INTEREST 2026 conference in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, at the time of the ceremony, Mr. Nuatro received the award on his behalf. The awards were presented by a distinguished SAA Board Members — the outgoing SAA President, Hon. Dr. David Pagewese Parirenyatwa; SAA Past President, Prof. Robert Soudre; the incoming SAA President, Dr. Richard Nchabi Kamwi; and the Mr. Luc Bodea, SAA/ICASA Director.

Both awardees share a remarkable story, they first joined the organization as national service personnels and, owing to their exceptional work ethic and proven capabilities, were retained as full staff members. Since then, they have served with distinction, contributing immensely to the growth and impact of SAA across their respective departments over the course of more than a decade.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the organization, bringing together past and present leadership to celebrate continuity, progress, and the values that define SAA. The recognition of Mr. Nuatro and Mr. Tambro served as a powerful reminder that the backbone of any great institution is the people who show up consistently, faithfully, and with purpose year after year.

SAA extends its deepest congratulations to both gentlemen.

Their journeys from national service to senior staff, and now honored recipients are an inspiration to all who serve within and alongside the organization.

May this recognition be a testament to what unwavering commitment and passionate service can achieve.

Congratulations, Mr. Chris Nuatro & Mr. Gordon Tambro!

Thank you for your long-serving dedication and invaluable contributions to SAA.
